I grew up on the East Coast of India, so I'm particularly fond of the Sun and the Sea and hence the title which means sea shore in Telugu. If everyone saw the best of photographs, and read only the best writings, where's the opportunity for the alsorans to showcase their talents( or the absence of them)?

The Start--- The Sun and the Sea
Hello friends,
Thanx for visiting my page.
I'm particularly fond of the Sun and the Sea, so my first post is about them. The Sea is the Arabian Sea and the setting Sun was clicked in Chennai.
Wonderful shots again. My personal picks are 4, 5 and 9 - no ordinary angles these. Something special in your captures, as I said earlier. So you like the sea? Good. Someone you must know about then is the old man that I like so much who in turn loves the sea so much - I'm referring to Ernest Hemingway's "The Old Man And The Sea". It's not even a book. It's just a little longer than a short story. I'll suggest it to everyone I know who I think can appreciate some good reading. There's a lot to be said for this "short story" genre. These stories don't come with a clear cut "moral of the story" line at the end. They're far more subtle than that. They convey possibilities, perspectives and emotions in life that we wouldn't even have dreamed about, they expand our horizons, giving us a peek into a sublime realm that we can't even glimpse into in our day to day lives. Ok, you can take all of that with a pinch of salt, but "The Old Man And The Sea" is a very good book. Read it if you can lay your hands on it. And thanks for all your good pictures, stories and travelogues. Many of them are really priceless.
Thank u Nanda, As usual, I promptly downloaded an e- copy of the book.
When we went to Trivandrum, I started experimenting with the manual settings of my canon sx camera, having learnt of the infinite possibilities with such settings from a younger one just a little earlier. I even clicked a 7+ mb pic of a footprint in the wet sand, which remains unposted because it does not fit into the theme..... 4& 5 were at Chowara (I hurriedly posted them here because my friend egged me on reg a photoblog) & 9 at Kovalam BTW, Chowara is a relatively less known but beautiful beach in Trivandrum. For more pics of Chowara, pl. see my post in Sun n Sea, but there may not be too many additions to what u've seen here.
I'm thankful to you for encouraging this mediocre also ran!
