Twilight, Sunrise and Brightness

I was extremely lucky to get this one on an October evening in Baroda  in  2009

Suddenly, I realised that I was hardly doing any justice to the photo blog. So, let me make a small beginning. I did not want to stop at dusk, because it is followed by dark. So, I fast forwarded the night and took it to the next morning's sunrise......the locations are given in the caption.
I was returning to Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu from Nidamangalam- en route this reflection caught my attention,
October, 2012
It was getting darker and we were nowhere near our destination

Aha! Pretty good shots again. Excellent angles and captures. Did you say you only use a point & shoot? I wonder what a DSLR in your hand will produce! Pro cameramen wait hours to capture angles like some of the shots that you manage to get usually. Something special there. Congrats.

One also envies you for the fact that you get to travel so much, as I gather from the many pictures and travelogues you have posted. In these days, when the grind of the day job gets so much more tougher by the day, it's rare (and very lucky too!) to be able to fit in so much travel into one's itinerary. I get reminded of a Maxim Gorky short story ("Makar Chudra") that I read a loong time back - an old Gypsy relating fascinating tales to the author and slipping in a lil'l of his own philosophy in the bargain. That gypsy's quote about travel - "...only way to live. Go about the world seeing things and when you have seen your fill, lie down and die. That's all..." A sublime story that I enjoyed so much, that I dare say you'll enjoy too very much. Do give it a whirl if you can find the time - it only takes an hour or so. Have a happy time.

Thank u Nanda! Your compliment is a biiig encouragement! I'll get back to the blog with more photos! Watch out! Let me confess that the pics on this post were clicked by sheer serendipity! The brightness was so blinding in Ooty that I didn't know what I clicked till the evening!

By the way, a DSLR in my hand will produce more shake( extending what I wrote about myself :P). There was a phase when I was frequently on the move, and my family knows I'm on tour, when I start off readying my camera n handycam. Now travel has become more infrequent so my already hopeless reading has almost become zero.

The lazy me who grew up staring at the Sun, Sea, clouds & the rain did not yet read Makar Chudra. I hv just downloaded a free ebook. This week is going to be very hard. Will try to read it hopefully over the weekend.

Talking about travelogues, one of my favs is Karnataka Pilgrimage day1 (in two parts). Hope u find it interesting!! You have a great week ahead, too!
